There are already four candidates in next year's election for Todd County Sheriff and there's still over two months left to file.
Republican Timothy Porter of Sharon Grove filed his papers with the County Clerks's Office Tuesday. Porter is a First Sergeant in the Kentucky National Guard and says he wants to serve the local community as Sheriff.
Porter is the first Republican to file, but there are reports that at least one more could join the race before the deadline in January. Current deputy Tracy White, Logan County Deputy Giles Taylor and former Sheriff Billy Stokes have already filed their papers to run as Democrats.
