Two people were killed in a single-vehicle wreck in the Russellville Walgreens parking lot Sunday evening.
The incident happened around 5:10 pm, according to a news release from the Logan County Sheriff's Office, which says a pickup was eastbound on Hopkinsville Road at a high rate of speed and hit the Walgreens sign at 4th and Bethel head-on shortly after crossing the bridge.
The truck came to rest in the parking lot and Logan County Coroner Mary Givens pronounced the driver and one passenger dead at the scene. Two other passengers, including an 11-year old juvenile, were flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in critical but stable condition.
Police say speed and the use of inhalants are believed to be contributing factors.
The names of the victims have not been released.
