The fire at a North Main Street auto-body shop last month has been ruled arson and investigators are asking for the public's help in solving the crime.
The Kentucky State Arson Task Force is offering up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest or indictment of the person responsible for setting the fire at North Side Paint and Auto Shop at 1027 North Main Street on the morning of September 20th.
An estimated $60,000 worth of damage was done to the structure and contents and no one was injured the blaze. The initial fire department report said the fire was primarily in the office and roof of the building, but it spread into the two bays and tire room.
A Hopkinsville Police report says fire investigators determined the blaze was purposely set. Anyone with information on the arson can call the State Arson Task Force at 1-800-27-ARSON.
