Kentucky State Police say an elderly woman succumbed to her injuries after she was involved in a two-vehicle wreck in Muhlenberg County late last month.
State Police say 82-year old Marjorie B. State Mallory of Beech Creek, Kentucky passed away Saturday night at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Evansville, Indiana after she was involved in a two vehicle wreck on Merle Travis Highway, near Beech Creek Browder Road, on Friday, September 27th.
State Police say preliminary investigation revealed that 37-year old Jason A. Dragoo of Central City was driving eastbound on Merle Travis Highway and Ms. Mallory was driving westbound on Merle Travis Highway when Dragoo crossed the center line into the path of Ms. Mallory, who was unable to avoid the head-on collision.
Dragoo and 54-year old Joe Mallory of Drakesboro, a passenger of Ms. Mallory, were transported by ambulance to Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment of their injuries.
Ms. Mallory was transported by PHI Air Medical to Saint Mary’s in Evansville where she succumbed to her injuries.
State Police say all occupants were wearing seatbelts and state police were assisted on the scene by the Beechmont Fire Department, Muhlenberg County EMS, and PHI Air Medical.
