The annual Pennyrile Walk to End Alzheimer’s took place Saturday morning with hundreds of supporters in attendance.
Publicity Chair, Traci Mason says she is thrilled to know so many people in the community show up each year to support the cause.
Ms. Mason says over 450 people were expected to attend the event, which was held at the Christian County Justice Center.
Ms. Mason says the Walk to End Alzheimer’s fundraiser is a great cause to support and that local families benefit from funds raised during the event.
In the first two years, the Pennyrile Walk to End Alzheimer’s raised about $90,000 and officials said over $60,000 was raised this year.
It is estimated that 80,000 Kentucky families live with this disease.
