Kentucky State Police continue to investigate a two-vehicle, injury collision that happened on the Breathitt Pennyrile Parkway in Hopkins County on Thursday morning.
State Police say the wreck happened sometime around 7:40 a.m. and the preliminary investigation revealed that 59-year old Rhonda P. Minton of Madisonville was driving northbound on the parkway and 51-year old Danny L. Gray of Baldwyn, Mississippi was driving northbound on the parkway.
State Police say Minton attempted to change lanes and lost control of her vehicle and struck two construction barrels, which caused her vehicle to turn sideways into the path of Gray’s vehicle.
Minton was transported by ambulance to Baptist Health Madisonville for treatment and Gray went uninjured in the wreck.
Police say both drivers were wearing their seatbelts and there were no passengers in either vehicles at the time of the wreck.
Trooper First Class John Komar investigated the collision and the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Department, Medical Center Ambulance Service, and SAFE Patrol assisted at the scene.
