A couple of arrests have been made in connection with recent local vehicle burglaries, but police say now is not the time to let your guard down.
Christian County Sheriff's Captain Chris Miller says as the Christmas season quickly approaches, the number of vehicle burglaries and other thefts usually goes up. He says the best way to keep yourself from being a victim is to always lock your vehicle doors.
Captain Miller says it's also important to not leave the key in your lawn mower when parking it outside, as that also drastically increases your chance of becoming a victim.
You should also never leave valuables in your vehicle when parking it overnight, as most break-ins are crimes of opportunity.
