An Oak Grove man was arrested Sunday morning on drug charges and on the strength of a warrant, but not until after a foot chase.
A Christian County Sheriff's Deputy made contact with 21-year old Jamarvis Allen on Fort Campbell Boulevard. While attempting to serve a warrant, the deputy saw Allen reach into his pockets and act as though he was going to run.
Allen was told the deputy was a K-9 unit, but he allegedly fled on foot when police attempted to pat him down. The police dog was deployed and Allen was quickly taken into custody. He was charged with tampering with evidence and possession of marijuana in addition to fleeing from police for allegedly throwing a baggie of the illegal weed aside as he ran.
Allen remains in the Christian County Jail.
