Mayor Dan Kemp today announced the promotion of Tim Cato as the city’s new budget officer.
Mayor Kemp says after reviewing numerous applications Cato was the clear choice for the position and that he impressed everyone on the panel by his experience and commitment to professional growth with the city.
Mayor Kemp added that his familiarity with the city’s budget and other finance processes will certainly be of great benefit to the local government.
Before joining the City of Hopkinsville last year, Cato served as a Universal Banker with US Bank.
Cato’s first day on the job as the city’s new budget officer was Monday and he replaces Melissa Sellers Spurr who held that position until she resigned as the city’s interim chief administrative officer and budget officer.
