Hopkinsville Police are asking for the public's help in solving a recent rash of vehicle break-ins.
A news release says the car burglaries have happened in residential neighborhoods throughout the city and a vast majority of the vehicles were not locked. The police department is once again asking residents to make sure their vehicles are locked and to remove all valuables including purses, cell phones and GPS systems when parking their vehicles for the night.
Officers will be increasing patrol efforts in residential areas, but anyone seeing anything suspicious should call 911. Anyone with information about who may have committed the burglaries should call the anonymous Crime Stoppers tips line at 887-TIPS. If a tip leads to an arrest in the recent vehicle burglaries, the person calling will receive a cash reward.
