The Christian County Board of Education tonight held a public meeting shortly before a special called meeting and heard remarks from several residents who were either for or against raising taxes.
School board members listened intently to their comments and during the school board meeting, board members approved to set the real property tax rate and personal property tax rate for Fiscal Year 2013-14 with Mary DeBow abstaining from voting.

In other business, at the request of board member Sara Shepard, the board also revisited the decision to stop transporting Lacy Elementary School students to Belmont Elementary School for aftercare services after Labor Day and unanimously decided to continue transporting the children throughout the school year.
