Labor Day weekend is upon us and police are warning anyone who is thinking about driving impaired that they will be caught.
Hopkinsville Police and law enforcement agencies across the region are doing extra DUI patrols and some are setting up DUI checkpoints in an effort to get those motorists off the roads.
A news release says HPD will also focus on enforcing other traffic laws, including being sure motorists are wearing their seat belts. Hopkinsville Police made 155 DUI arrests in 2012, 30 of which came after wrecks.
Statistics show 43% of DUI arrests in Hopkinsville occur between 10 p.m. And 2 a.m.
