Five people filed reports with Hopkinsville Police yesterday, saying they haven't received property or cash that belonged to them after the recent closure of a local consignment shop.
New Beginnings Consignment Shop on Canton Street recently closed its doors and went out of business. Since then, some of the owners of the property that had been for sale say they haven't been able to get it back.
Filing reports with HPD Tuesday morning and afternoon were Helen Poe, Billy Dawson, Cathy Russell and Mary Greenfield. All four reported their property was not returned to them—which included a kitchen table, grandfather clock, bedroom suit and other home furnishings. Additionally, Kimberly Conyers told police she put down a $100 deposit and never got it back after the closure.
Total value of the property is listed at around $2,500.
