The mother of a young girl killed in a traffic accident on an icy bridge in January will face manslaughter charges.
Charged with one count of second degree manslaughter is 30-year old Amber Adams of of Hopkinsville. Ms. Adams was the driver of an SUV on the Eagle Way Bypass January 15, when she lost control of her vehicle on the ice-covered bridge near Martin Luther King Elementary School and struck the guardrail, causing her vehicle to flip.
Her daughter, four-year old Brooklyn Coleman, was not in a booster seat and was pronounced dead on the scene by Christian County Coroner Doris Lamb. Adams was served with a Christian County Grand Jury sealed indictment Thursday and will appear in Circuit Court August 28 for arraignment.
