A traffic stop on Cox Mill Road late Friday night resulted in two arrests on multiple charges.
Hopkinsville Police Officer Jeremy Marcum pulled over 20-year old Hassan Stewart of the city around 11:30 for allegedly speeding and failing to use a turn signal. When police made contact with Stewart, he allegedly smelled of marijuana and he performed poorly on field sobriety tests.
He allegedly admitted to having marijuana in the vehicle. The report says a bag of marijuana fell out of the pants of a passenger—20-year old Julius Mack of Hopkinsville—as he exited the car. Police say they also found digital scales and cash in the vehicle.
Both men were arrested, with Mack charged with trafficking in marijuana, tampering with evidence and possession of drug paraphernalia. Stewart was charged with trafficking in marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, DUI and several traffic offenses.
Both were lodged in the Christian County Jail.
