The president and CEO of a Hopkinsville bank has been chosen as the next chair of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce.
Planters Bank President Elizabeth McCoy was named President-Elect this week. The move came after former Chair-Elect Mary Pat Regan relocated to Chicago for a promotion with AT&T. Ms. Regan had served as president of AT&T Kentucky and played a large role in expanding cell phone service coverage in rural areas of western Kentucky.
A news release from the state chamber says Ms. McCoy will take over as chair in October after the current term of Jim Booth expires. Kentucky Chamber President Dave Adkisson says Ms. McCoy has demonstrated outstanding leadership during the past few years and that it's no surprised her peers chose her for the job.
