Two people who allegedly tried to walk out of Wal-Mart with shopping carts of stolen merchandise Sunday evening were soon arrested by Hopkinsville Police.
The alleged incident happened around 6:45, where Wal-Mart Loss Prevention told Officer Joseph Garcia that two women tried to walk out of the garden center exit with the carts full of just over $1,000 worth of merchandise.
The women were approached by an employee who asked to see a receipt and that's when the couple left their carts and fled the scene.
HPD soon arrested 26-year old Myeshia Barbour of Elizabethtown and 28-year old Martisha Bertha of Hopkinsville on theft charges. They were lodged in the Christian County Jail on $5,000 bond.
