Officials with Fort Campbell’s Blanchfield Army Community Hospital’s Warrior Transition Battalion will be hosting a change of command ceremony tomorrow morning.
W-T-B Commander, Colonel William G. Howard will relinquish command to Lieutenant Colonel Bryan J. Walrath during a ceremony in the Fort Campbell Personnel Processing Center.
Officials say for the past 24 months, Howard has commanded the Fort Campbell W-T-B, the second largest of the 17 Warrior Transition Units in the Army, which is considered to be a model for other Warrior Transition Units across the Army.
Officials say under Howard’s leadership, the battalion was the first Warrior Transition Unit in the Army to earn the Department of the Army Safety Excellence Streamer and was the only battalion at Fort Campbell to receive a 100 percent commendable rating across the board by the Fort Campbell Inspector General.
Howard will be going to Fort Belvoir to serve as the Operations Officer for the Northern Region Medical Command, while Walrath comes to the local post from his role as Adjutant and Chief of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security for MacDonald Army Community Hospital in Fort Eustis, Virginia.
