Today marks the 28th anniversary of the Gander, Newfoundland plane crash that claimed the lives of 248 soldiers and eight crew members following a peace keeping mission in the Sinai Peninsula.
Despite the winter chill this afternoon, a small crowd gathered together to honor the fallen soldiers, who were assigned to the 2nd Brigade Combat Team.
