American Red Cross officials are urging residents to give a gift that will save lives this holiday season.
The American Red Cross’ Give Something that Means Something winter campaign runs through January 6th and officials are hoping eligible donors will give something meaningful this holiday season by donating blood or platelets for hospital patients in need.
Communications Manager of the Red Cross Tennessee Valley Blood Services Region, Regina Raccuglia Conway says historically, during the holiday season, fewer donors make the time to give blood because they are too busy celebrating the holiday season, but patients don’t get a holiday from needing blood and platelets. The need is constant.
As an added incentive to donate, all presenting donors will receive a commemorative long-sleeve Red Cross T-Shirt while supplies last.
Area residents are urged to donate blood on December 13th from 8 a.m. at 4 p.m. at Fort Campbell’s Blanchfield Army Community Hospital or on December 20th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Fort Campbell’s Post Exchange.
