A Fort Campbell man was injured in a single-vehicle wreck on the south side of Hopkinsville Monday night.
The incident happened just before 9 o'clock, according to the Hopkinsville Police report from Officer Robert Sibal, which says 30-year old William Fitzpatrick of Fort Campbell was southbound near Fidelio Road when he ran off the road and into a wood line.
Fitzpatrick told police a vehicle had approached him from behind without its lights on and tried to pass him. The driver of that vehicle then reportedly attempted to make a quick lane change, causing Fizpatrick to swerve and wreck.
Fitzpatrick was taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for back pain and the report says he was wearing his seat belt.
