Officials with Fort Campbell’s Blanchfield Army Community Hospital will be offering the influenza vaccine to all TRICARE beneficiaries with a military ID card on post at two different locations.
Officials say for the first time in the post’s history, the hospital’s preventive medicine team will offer the influenza vaccine at the Post Exchange and Commissary with the vaccine expected to arrive at the military installation during the next week.
TRICARE Beneficiaries 6 months or older, including soldiers, retirees and family members may receive the flu vaccine for free on Wednesday, October 23rd at the Post Exchange from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and again Wednesday, October, 30th at the Commissary from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Preventive Medicine Chief, Captain Samuel Peik, adds that patients assigned to a BACH medial home, including the Screaming Eagle Medical Home, will be able to get vaccinated for free during a regularly scheduled appointment or as a walk-in service.
In addition, the hospital’s preventive medicine staff with team up with nurses throughout the post’s schools next month to offer the vaccine to students during the school day.
