Area residents are encouraged to show their support and help cheer on wounded Fort Campbell soldiers, who are participating in a 164-mile bike ride this month.
Residents are invited to line up at the last portion of the route and show their support for 12 local soldiers participating in the bike ride.
Organizers say the riders will be on Tylertown Road, Trenton Road, Tiny Town Road and then Fort Campbell Boulevard on Wednesday, September 25th sometime around 1 p.m.
Officials say the 12 Fort Campbell soldiers, who are assigned to the post’s Warrior Transition Unit will meet a group of Fort Knox soldiers and their support staff at Fort Knox on Tuesday, September 24th and ride the first 97 miles to Bowling Green.
Officials say after an overnight stay, the group of approximately 40 riders will bike the remaining 67 miles on Wednesday, September 25th to Fort Campbell.
Fort Campbell Warrior Transition Battalion staff and soldiers, as well as the 101st Airborne Division Band, will welcome the returning riders with a finish line celebration.
