Live music will be provided for your enjoyment by US Bank's very own Logan Alsup along with his friends, Taylor Gray and guests. CD's will be available for purchase at the event and proceeds from the sales will also go to Christian County Relay for Life. On Thursday, May 23, 2013, at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber of City Hall, Mayor Kemp will hold a press conference unveiling the latest details on the Rail Trail Project Fundraising. An ambitious community development project, the rail trail project includes conversion of a 5K abandoned railway corridor into safe, accessible greenway space. This proposed public/private collaboration includes connection to an existing riverwalk, rail trail conversion, development of three trailheads and a neighborhood connector. Offering convenient access to users, the trails will include trailheads established adjacent to parks, trails, pavilions, restrooms, play areas, and playgrounds. The Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County announces a special display of antique radios in its Pennyroyal Treasures exhibit. The tabletop radios come from a local, private collection, and each piece boasts its original cabinet finishes and knobs. This exhibit will be on display at the Pennyroyal Area Museum during the months of May and June. General admission to the Museum is $2 with special rates for seniors and children; there is no admission fee for the Museum Shop. This is one of the Movers & Shakers fundraising events to assist MEDI to provide small business development assistance to locally owned small businesses at no cost to the community.
