On Thursday, May 23, 2013, at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber of City Hall, Mayor Kemp will hold a press conference unveiling the latest details on the Rail Trail Project Fundraising. An ambitious community development project, the rail trail project includes conversion of a 5K abandoned railway corridor into safe, accessible greenway space. This proposed public/private collaboration includes connection to an existing riverwalk, rail trail conversion, development of three trailheads and a neighborhood connector. Offering convenient access to users, the trails will include trailheads established adjacent to parks, trails, pavilions, restrooms, play areas, and playgrounds. The Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County announces a special display of antique radios in its Pennyroyal Treasures exhibit. The tabletop radios come from a local, private collection, and each piece boasts its original cabinet finishes and knobs. This exhibit will be on display at the Pennyroyal Area Museum during the months of May and June.
